Tissue Paper Exports: Volume Up, Price Down
In the first half of 2025, China's tissue paper exports reached 778,300 tons, marking a 19.06% increase compared to H1 2024. However, export value dropped slightly to USD 1.219 billion, down 1.77% year-on-year, reflecting a "higher volume, lower price" trend.
Finished products remained dominant, accounting for 69.41% of total exports (up from 69.06% in H1 2024). Among finished goods, handkerchief and facial tissues showed the strongest growth, with export volumes surging by 33.86%.
Tissue Paper Imports: Still Modest, Raw Materials Dominate
While imports rose slightly compared to the same period last year, total volume remained low at 22,300 tons. Raw tissue paper continued to dominate, making up 90.57% of all imports.
China’s tissue paper industry is demonstrating strong export competitiveness and a high level of self-sufficiency on the import side.
